Below you will find a selection of projects for which we provided facade engineering services whilst working for our previous employers Arup and BuroHappold.

DESIGN & TENDER STAGE
Design guidance included regular workshops (biweekly) with the architect and other consultants. Topics such as the following were addressed:
Thermal assessments, structural design, installation methods, access and maintenance methods, fire safety, acoustic performance, security design, risk analysis (glass and installation), age friendly design etc.
Material and facade system studies were carried out. Typical materials are brickwork, natural stone, metal claddings, curtain walls, copper, bronze, precast and fiber reinforced concrete, bio and plastic composites, timber cladding
Tender documentation development for the full facade package. During the tender stage tenderers (facade contractors) were interviewed and their submissions reviewed.
Calculations, drawings, installation sequences and material/ product proposals submitted by the contractor were reviewed and discussed during regular construction meetings with the contractor, developer and architect.
Factory inspections and prototype testing were part of our services to maintain quality and consistency of the quality of the facades.
Site inspections were carried out monthly or bi weekly to ensure the facade is installed as per drawings and calculations and to minimise risks due to for example poor workmanship.

Services: Project management and façade design during all stages for the refurbishment and extension of the office building. The façade comprises a variety of systems, including unitised curtain wall, stick system, glass fins, stone façade and a large atrium.

Battersea Power Station Phase 3A - O1, London, UK
Mixed use 15 storey building accommodating 750 apartments. Facade engineering serviced from concept up to end of tender stage. The building features large precast slab edge bullnoses, precast soffits, sliding doors, highly reflective glazing, curved glass and winter gardens.

Lillie Square, Block C, London, UK
Project manager and façade designer for the newly build residential building during construction stage. The façade consists of a unitised façade system, with various cladding types including stone, GRC and aluminium.

Fitzroy Place, London, UK,
Monitoring compliance during the construction stage of a five building development as part of the client’s compliance monitoring team. The buildings feature brick-faced and stone-faced precast concrete storey high panels, in combination with window systems, stick systems and metal stud walls. Services provided include review of facade contractor’s drawings, calculations and material submittals, weekly site inspections, off site inspections of factories and mock ups.

UCL East Marshgate, Phase 1, London, UK
Project manager and façade designer for the newly build university building for UCL in Stratford. The façade consists of precast panels as well as various curtain wall systems.

Musheireb heart of Doha phase 2, Doha, Qatar
Project manager and facade designer during all design and construction stages of a large new development of 13 buildings in the centre of Doha. The development contains retail, a hotel, offices, restaurants, a cinema and apartments. The main facade systems are natural stone, render, GRC and terracotta rainscreen systems, glass fin facades and perforated aluminium screens. .

Project manager and facade designer during all design stages for the 240m tall residential tower. The facade consists of various curtain wall and cladding systems.

Building envelope physics analyses and detail optimization for this high-rise (500m+) project in Tianjin, China. Facade design and design coordination in the DD and tender stage for the podium building (shopping mall).

4 residential Towers of 122 to 200 meter high. Facade engineering during all design and construction stages. The facade features a unitised curtain wall system with fritted glass and glazed spandrel panels. The project had challenging thermal performance requirements.
